Exhaust brake to flex plate problems?

Just bought a pak-brake for my 2001 Dodge 2500 Cummins with an automatic transmission. As I talked about with some guys one said use it as a paper weight because the harmonics of an exhaust brake will destroy the flex plate of a 2001 model automatic. Does anyone know how much of that is true? Any ideas?
