What is the evolutionary purpose of life? and where did life evolve from if there was not life to begin with?

Nobody really knows how life began, but the most accepted scientific theory is that random molecules of life ( NCHOPS ) in ancient oceans were energized somehow and life arose out of that. The theory is called primordial soup.
