Why is the chicken and egg question considered a logical dilemma while the answer is obvious?

To any rational mind, the egg must have come first, as the chicken must have been hatched from it. The egg was laid by an evolutionary predecessor that was almost but not quite a chicken. The chicken was the next evolutionary step. The creature that laid the egg was very chickenish, but not a chicken.
