People today look at Darwin's theory of evolution as the correct and most prominent explanation of evolution. The Church was very upset with this theory because they believed that it, in a way, disproved the existence of a God. Scientists laughed at the idea of evolution and just thought that everything was as it was forever. They later realized that Darwin was most likely right.
